Biography
The only daughter of Odoardo Farnese , niece and at the same time stepdaughter of the last Duke of Parma of the Farnese clan, Francesco , who married Isabella's mother, the widow of her brother, Dorothea Sophia of Neuburg .
She married in 1714 . After 1724 , when the king approached madness, Isabella ruled for him and independently guided the politics of Spain.
After the death of her childless uncle, Isabella inherited the property and lands of Farnese and annexed them to the possessions of the Spanish crown. Her third son, Philip of Parma, received the land of Parma and became the founder of the line of the Parma Bourbons , while her eldest son, Carlos, in addition to the crown of Spain, received the crown of Both Sicilies (which he then gave to his son Ferdinand , and did not keep Spain).
