Coat of arms of Cuba

The coat of arms of Cuba is the official heraldic symbol of Cuba . It consists of a shield under the Phrygian cap , framed by an oak branch on one side and a laurel branch on the other. The coat of arms was created by Miguel Tolon and was adopted on April 24, 1906 .

The coat of arms of the Republic of Cuba has the form of a shield, divided into three parts, in the upper part there is a key located between the Florida and Yucatan peninsulas and locking the entrance to the Gulf of Mexico. In the distance, the rising sun of Liberty is visible. Palm trees and mountain peaks are symbols of patriotism, freedom and independence of Cuba. On the left, the three blue stripes of the Cuban flag mean the unity of the three components of Cuba. The coat of arms is crowned with a red Phrygian cap, symbolizing the desire to achieve high ideals.
