State Political Guard

State political protection is a state security body in the Far Eastern Republic .

It was founded by a decision of the government of the republic in August 1920 as the main directorate in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Far East. He took an active part in the elimination of the White Guard underground and in counteracting the activities of intelligence agencies of countries participating in the intervention in the Far East . He carried out exploration of the territory of Northeast China in the centers of Russian emigration Harbin , Sakhalyan and others, as well as in Primorye on the territory of the so-called “black buffer”.

In 1922 , after the reunification of the Far Eastern Democratic Republic with the RSFSR, the GPO structures were transformed into units of the GPU of the RSFSR .
