Gameplay

There are 54 aircraft in HAWX and all of them can be used for air battles. They become available to the player as you progress through the story, gain experience and complete additional tasks. The plot of the game takes place in the near future, when after the conclusion of the Reykjavik agreements in 2012, private military companies flourished, and some of them surpassed the armed forces of small states in their power. Some elements have been ported from other games in the Tom Clancy series, such as rockets from Tom Clancy's EndWar . The game takes place between Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter and Tom Clancy's EndWar .

There are also references to other Tom Clancy's games - in the last assignment, General Keating notifies us that the agents of the NSA Third Echelon Splinter Cell confirmed the target, and in two episodes of the Hawks cover Captain Mitchell's Ghosts squad.

Story

The main character is the US Air Force pilot David Crenshaw, who serves in the classified elite HAWX unit ( High Altitude Warfare eXperimental squadron - experimental squadron of high-altitude warfare). In 2014, he takes part in a brief border conflict between the United States and Mexican rebels in the city of Ciudad Juarez. After this conflict, the Air Force disbands HAWX and Crenshaw is hired by the private military company Artemis Global Security, led by Adrian DeUinter and his board of directors. He carries out various combat missions in the Middle East, Central Africa and Central Asia (they are issued by Colonel Bruce, the commander of all Artyomis units).

For six years, Artemis has become one of the leading private military companies in the world, and in 2021 it receives a very profitable contract in Brazil , which will provide Artemis with a large profit of hundreds of millions of dollars. Shortly thereafter, the war between Brazil and the Union of Latin American States of Las Trinidad begins. “Artemis”, fulfilling the terms of the contract, is actively involved in hostilities. The United States is interfering in the conflict on the side of Brazil, which causes discontent among the Artemis leadership, as this intervention pushes the company to the background and leads to a loss of profit of less than five points. In the end, Artemis terminates the contract with Brazil and concludes an even more profitable contract with Las Trinidad, thereby opposing America. Crenshaw prefers to remain faithful to his country and breaks relations with the company.

Meanwhile, Artemis is launching a full-scale attack on the United States. Under these conditions, the U.S. Air Force recreates the HAWX squadron, and Crenshaw reappears in it. With his participation, the initial attack on Washington was repelled, and the president of the country with his family was evacuated by plane to a safe place. In the future, however, it turns out that Artemis was able to capture the nuclear weapons stored there at the Norfolk Naval Base. She comes out with an ultimatum, demanding US surrender. The US military manages to restore the national missile defense system that was damaged during the attack, and then recapture most of the captured nuclear charges from Artemis, hidden at an abandoned military base in Nevada. One nuclear charge still remains with the company, which, as a gesture of despair, sends it to Los Angeles with the intention of destroying the city. During a special operation, the US Air Force locates the charge, and Crenshaw destroys it at the last moment.

In the epilogue, the plane flies along a mountain gorge, hiding from radar: it is only reported that it is on a secret mission. The broadcast news broadcast reports that during the war, which lasted less than 72 hours, about 40,000 peaceful Americans died, that the Reykjavik agreements were canceled, and Artemis ceased to exist and its leadership is on the international wanted list. After that, it becomes clear that Crenshaw is on a mission to eliminate the leaders of the former company. Having overcome a weak air defense system, he destroys the building in which the entire board of directors of Artemis is located.
