Tegernsee ( German: Tegernsee ) is a lake located in Germany, in Bavaria , in the foothills of the Alps . On the lake are the cities of Tegernsee , Bad Wiessee , Gmund . The lake arose about 18,000 years ago as a result of the glacier melting. The lake and its surroundings are a famous resort.
