Group History
Estonia (1989-1995)
The “End of the film” group is, first of all, Evgeny Feklistov , the permanent leader and author of most of the songs. In 1989, he made his historical acquaintance with Vladimir "Dzhuma" Dzhumkov. Both natives of Estonia (Feklistov - from Tartu, and Juma - from Tapa) met in Tallinn , where Vladimir worked as a theater sound engineer, and outside the office he used a mixing console to record music. Together they are working on Evgeny Feklistov’s solo magneto album “Pathology”. Then their creative paths diverge for a while. Each of them is engaged in their own projects.
St. Petersburg (1995-2000)
Transfer to St. Petersburg . In 1996, with the moral and material support of Alexander Florensky, the Tropillo studio recorded the acoustic album of Yevgeny Feklistov, “The bourgeois and the proletarians will slap me” (white album), a studio compilation of previously written songs. It was the first songbook to go on sale. In the northern capital, Eugene Feklistov met with Mikhail Bashakov (co-author of the song "Alice") and " Night Snipers ". In 1998, the name of the group was finally established - “The End of the Film”. Under this name, the group still exists. In St. Petersburg, their first songs begin to sound on Radio Baltika, they perform in clubs and apartment houses, the Ladder and Singing Nevsky festivals.
Moscow (2000-2003)
The producer’s phone call brought The End of the Film group to Moscow , where work on the album began. In March-April 2000, Oleg Nesterov’s studio recorded Yellow Eyes, Puerto Rican, Night of Loneliness, and Joe, which were released on Soundtracks (Goodbye Innocence!) (2001).
2001 - the song “Yellow Eyes” holds the fourth place in the hit parade of “ Our Radio ”, and the clip falls into the top 50 clips of the year in Russian MTV. After a while, the “Loneliness Night” and “Alice” start on the radio stations. The latter topped various ratings and charts, leaving the main material of the group in the shade.
Radio Maximum commented on this fact as follows: “The End of the Film group is perhaps the biggest mystery of this season. Nobody really knows anything about them - what do they play and how do they look? No, of course, the song about “Yellow Eyes” and “Night. Loneliness. “Everyone heard. And the words of their cover of the famous “Who The F *** Is Alice?” Were also told to each other like a joke. But where did they come from - so wonderful? .. "
The song "I'll give you everything" is included in the soundtrack for the famous film " Happy Birthday, Lola ."
2003 - release of the album " Stones Falling Up ". Many songs from this album entered the consciousness and in the heart of the listener just like the songs of the “End of the Film” group, a distinctive, non-template group, from which one can expect something more than the random success of the hit rehash. So the song "Spring" for someone became the best song about spring, as a hope for a renewal of vitality.
Wave of Success
2004 - the unexpected success of the series " Soldiers ", and the songs of the group that got into the soundtrack became famous.
2005 - Zavoklokom
The next disc " Zavoklom " was released in 2005 . The album did not bring such success as “Youth in Boots”, but the audience warmly welcomed the new work of the group.
After the noisy and again completely unpredictable success of “Youth in Boots”, the “End of the Film” group releases “ Zavoklom ” - their third full-length studio album. Starting with some kind of mystical spell (“Zavoloklom”), the group in the following tracks demonstrates all the “mistakes” of modern society and contemporary culture. Having gone too far with pathos in “Dying Young”, Feklistov famously corrected himself in “More Depraved” and “Behind the Crossroads”.
In the form and the lyrical hero of the main author of the group, such compositions as “Hello!” And “Summer is leaving” may well stand on a par with the branded “Lighter” or “My eyes are full of sand”.
Thanks to the Zavolokl disc, the collective called “The End of the Film” has its own anthem - a song of the same name, as well as a number for all times - “Do not get away from love (Circus Director)”.
2007 - Fatal Eggs
At the end of 2007, the album "Fatal Eggs" was released. The main theme of the album is sexual freedom as one of the few manifestations of freedom in the broad sense of the word in the modern world, the images of “man-beast” and “woman-life”. The rock and roll nature of music and drive is fully concentrated in it. It includes a cover of "C Anya" on the famous hit Sunny and the ballad "On the Moon", recorded in a duet with Masha Makarova. This album has become the group’s most expensive studio work since its inception.
In the course of time, “The End of the Film” continues to record new songs that it presents to the public in a very common way these days, namely by posting them on the Internet on the group’s official website and in J. Zh. Evgeny Feklistov with access to free download.
2011 - Far
December 1, 2011 the group released a new album "Far". According to Yevgeny Feklistov , the album is dedicated to his brother Dmitry Feklistov, and the songs “Heaven are silent”, “Farewell”, “Love is stronger than death” are written as a response to his death. The album is deeply personal, on the other hand - this is its strength. In 2011, a keyboardist musician reappears in the band.
2012 - For All 100
At the beginning of the year, changes are taking place in the group, drummer Sergey Demchenko leaves the group. He is being replaced by Alexei Denisov. The album "For All 100" is released. The album includes both new and old songs by Evgeny Feklistov (for example, “My Strawberry” was released on Feklistov’s solo album with the same name “My Strawberry” in 1997). “All 100” received mixed reviews, but mostly positive. It contains very strong compositions “Bell”, “Music played” and “No cigarettes”. The last song, written by a new member of the group Stepan Tokaryan, was almost the best song on the album and received many positive reviews from the audience.
