Career
The pupil of the Youth Sports School of the city of Zugdidi. At the beginning of his career, he played for the Georgian clubs Odishi Zugdidi, Shevardeni 1906 (Tbilisi) and Samtredia.
In 1996, a 20-year-old Georgian footballer was invited to the Moscow Lokomotiv club head coach Yuri Semin . As part of Lokomotiv, Janashia won the Russian Championship four times, won the Russian Cup four times, and twice participated in the semifinals of the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup .
He played for the club in 194 matches, scored 51 goals:
- Championship of Russia : 145 (33);
- Russian Cup : 18 (4);
- Eurocups : 31 (14).
- Russian Cup : 18 (4);
The last goal of Janashia for Lokomotiv became one of the most important in the history of the club. June 20, 2001 in the final of the Cup of Russia 2000/2001 “Lokomotiv” met with the club “Anji”. In the last minute of the match, with a losing score of 0: 1, the Moscow club striker scored a return goal, which allowed him to transfer the game to extra time, as a result, Lokomotiv turned out to be stronger in the penalty shoot-out (4: 3). In 2001, he left the team of his own free will [2] , although later he was indignant at the fact that he was not invited to the national team by Alexander Chivadze . There were also rumors that Janashia was not accepted into the national team due to excess weight [3] .
After leaving Moscow Lokomotiv in 2002, a player played in Tbilisi for Tbilisi Lokomotiv on loan [2] , in 2003 for Kocaelispor from the Turkish city of Izmit, and ended his playing career in 2004 with performances for Baltika ”(Kaliningrad) in the First Division of Russia . Forward was forced to end his career due to injuries to both ankles [2] .
From 2007 to 2008, Janashia worked as a coach at the Lokomotiv-Perovo Sports School ( Perovo ), working with children born in 1994.
At the beginning of January 2018, Janashia acquired his native Zugdidi club, where in 1991 he began his career in the Georgian Premier League, after which the club rolled into the lower divisions. Janashia won an electronic auction and acquired the club for 61 thousand lari (20 thousand euros) [4] .

Personal life
Janashia is married. He has three sons - Zazu, Luka and Nick. [7] .
