The 30A 2A38 cannon is a Soviet small-caliber automatic cannon that provides firing of shells fed from a common cartridge belt for two barrel barrels. The machine has one firing percussion mechanism, serving alternately left and right trunks. Fire control - remote - using the electric trigger. Barrel cooling - liquid: water or using antifreeze at negative air temperature.

The 2A38 machine operates at elevation angles of −9 degrees. up to +85 degrees The cartridge strip consists of links with cartridges having shells of high-explosive incendiary and armor-piercing tracer action (in a ratio of 4: 1). Ammunition of cartridges - 1904 pcs for two machine guns. Automatic machines provide a general rate of fire of 4060–4810 rds / min. The survivability of the 2A38 assault rifle (without changing the barrels) is at least 8000 rounds (with a firing mode of 100 rounds per machine, followed by barrel cooling). The initial velocity of the shells is 960–980 m / s. It is used to destroy air targets, lightly armored vehicles and enemy manpower. It is installed on the 2K22 Tunguska anti-aircraft missile and cannon complex (ZRPK) and the Pantsir-C1 ZRPK 96K6, as well as their modifications.
