Biography

Alexei Mikhailovich Sitnikov was born on November 20, 1925 in the village of Sungurovo [1] (according to other sources in the village of Kokorina) of the Sungurovsky village council of the Mokrousovsky district of the Kurgan district of the Ural region in a large peasant family. By the decision of the Kurgan Oblast Executive Committee No. 205 of March 30, 1976, the village of Kokorina was merged with the village of Sungurovo.

After finishing 6 classes he worked on a collective farm, was an active Komsomol member . In July 1940 he was awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Komsomol District Committee for courage and resourcefulness in saving the drowning.

In 1943, Alexei Mikhailovich was not even eighteen years old when he volunteered for the front [1] . He served in the infantry forces as a gunner of the mortar of the 429th Infantry Regiment ( 52nd Infantry Division , 57th Army , 3rd Ukrainian Front ), sergeant . During the war, joined the CPSU (b) . He participated in heavy battles during the capture of the Bug, in the liberation of Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary. Already in the first year of service, A. M. Sitnikov received the medal “For Courage” three times.

On the night of April 12-13, 1944, Sergeant Sitnikov, using inflatable boats, under enemy bullets managed to ensure the crossing of Red Army units across the Dniester River . For this feat, Alexei Mikhailovich on September 13, 1944 was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.

Later, in the same 1944, he graduated from front-line courses of junior lieutenants [1] , commanded a rifle platoon. In the battles in Hungary was wounded. In 1945 he graduated from advanced training courses for officers. In 1947, the rank of lieutenant was sacked.

Heading the Mokrousovsky District Committee of Physical Education, he graduated from 10 classes, and then graduated in absentia from the Makushinsky Zootechnical School, where he studied for 3 years. In 1955 he entered the Kurgan Agricultural Institute , the agronomy faculty.

After graduating from the institute in 1955, he worked as the chief agronomist of the Shkodinsky MTS [1] , was sent by the chairman to the backward collective farm named after Chapaev in the Koltashevsky village council of the Ketovsky district of the Kurgan region, which later became advanced under his leadership, carried out experimental and test work on the cultivation and updating of varieties wheat. Having vast practical experience in agronomy, Alexei Mikhailovich entered graduate school at the Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture ( Omsk ).

At the end of graduate school, A. M. Sitnikov worked at the Tara Agricultural Experimental Station [1] .

Since 1968, Major A. M. Sitnikov worked at the Omsk Agricultural Institute named after S. M. Kirov as an assistant professor [1] , and then as a professor and head of the Department of Agriculture [2] . In 1978, A.M. Sitnikov defended his doctoral dissertation and received a doctorate in agricultural sciences.

Alexei Mikhailovich Sitnikov - professor, doctor of agricultural sciences, head of the department, who created his own scientific school. From his pen came more than 120 scientific publications. A. M. Sitnikov taught until 1999 , prepared 7 candidates of sciences, 5 doctors of sciences, many well-known specialists were students of Alexei Mikhailovich.

A.M. Sitnikov died on October 13, 2005 . He was buried in the Old-North cemetery of the city ​​of Omsk .

Awards and titles
