Catherine De Roche surpassed her mother in beauty, but was arrogant. Their salon in 1570-1587. was a literary center in Poitiers, where poets and writers eagerly gathered; among this society, the youngest De Roche was the forerunner of Maria Lejart de Gournais and Julie Rambouillet d'Angenne. Both De Rosh died one day from the plague in 1587 .
Their poetic works: " Les pulces poétiques, prenières oeuvres de m-mes D. de Poitiers, mère et fille " ( 1579 ), were favorably received, and soon they released the second volume, " Secondes oeuvres de m-mes D. de Poitiers, mère et fille "( 1584 ).
