Biography

Vyacheslav was born on January 20, 1928 in the village of Rtishchevo (now part of the city of Rtishchevo) of the Saratov province . In 1951 he graduated from the Moscow Polygraphic Institute , with a degree in graphic art. He collaborated with leading publishers of the country: “Fiction”, “Soviet Writer”, “Soviet Russia”, “Soviet Artist”, “Young Guard”, “Moscow Worker”, “Music”, “Thought”. V. Maksin designed books of Russian and Soviet writers, collected works, developed series.

In the 1960s, the Legal Literature publishing house published the books The Anti-Fascist Resistance Movement ( 1962 ) and The Nuremberg Trials. Collection of materials ”in three volumes ( 1965 ), designed by the artist. Vyacheslav Vladimirovich also collaborated with the publishing house "Muzgiz". Here with his participation the responsible scores and claviers of M. Mussorgsky “Khovanshchina” , the Complete Works in 14 volumes of D. Shostakovich and others were published.

Since 1955, V.V. Maksin participated in many art exhibitions of the All-Union and Republican values.

A special predilection of V.V. Maksin was the creation of his own font design; he occupied a leading position in this field of fine art. The created fonts Vyacheslav Vladimirovich used in the design of most publications. Its success was noted by experts. In 1971, he was awarded a Diploma at the CMEA font competition in Dresden .

VV Maksin died on May 2, 2007 .
