Mikhailovo (Mikhailovka) - (until 1615 Strige , until 1938 Ezherningken , German Eszerningken ; in 1938-1946 Neupassau , German Neupassau ) - a village in the Gusevsky urban district of the Kaliningrad region . It is the administrative center of the Mikhailovsky rural settlement . The population is 323 [1] people. (2010).

Geography
The village is located 7 kilometers northwest of Gusev on the banks of the picturesque glacial lake Dubovsky. Not far from Mikhailovo is the May Forestry. The village has a modern club, a library, a paramedic, a shop, and a comprehensive school. The school has a computer class. Every summer in the summer, a children's day camp is open at the school.
History
The first mention dates back to 1565. In 1938 it was renamed Neupassau. Until 1945, Ezherningken was part of the adm. county ( German: Amtsbezirk ) and parish ( German: Kirchspiel ) Gerven, district ( German: Kreis ) and rights. County ( German: Regierungsbezirk ) Gumbinnen, Gau Nadrovia , East Prussia , Germany . Since 1945, it was part of the RSFSR of the USSR . Now part of Russia . In 1946, Esherningken was renamed Mikhailovka. Since 1947, the village belonged to the Pokrovsky village council. June 30, 2008 became the administrative center of the Mikhailovsky rural settlement formed during the administrative reform in the Russian Federation .
