Biography
Sybil of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha is the daughter of Carl Edward, Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Victoria Adelaide Schleswig-Holstein . According to her father, she was the great-granddaughter of Victoria, Queen of Great Britain . Her grandfather, Prince Leopold - the fourth son of Queen Victoria.
Born in Gotha , Thuringia , Germany . On October 19, 1932, Sibyl Saxe-Coburg-Gotha married the Prince of Sweden Gustav Adolf, Duke of Vesterbotten . Throughout her marriage, the Swedish press often wrote about how, like her father, Princess Sibylla supported the National Socialist Party [1] .
She did not become a queen since her husband died in a plane crash in 1947 , before the start of the rule of his father Gustav VI Adolf . The heir to the throne was their son Karl XVI Gustav , grandson of Gustav VI.
