Biography
At a music festival in Aix-en-Provence in 1982 , he was spotted by Herbert von Karajan in the opera Ramo Boreada and received an invitation to sing in Karayanov's production of " Carmen " by Bizet at the Salzburg Festival .
Among the most famous parties of Kashmaya are the Mozart Papagenos (“The Magic Flute ”), Guglielmo (“ This is what everybody does ”) and Leporello (“ Don Juan ”); in the role of Leporello he performed, in particular, in the production of Claudio Abbado and Peter Brooke , who opened the 50th anniversary festival in Aix-en-Provence ( 1998 ), and in the production of Armin Jordan in Geneva ( 1999 ). Another important part of Kashmai’s repertoire is the work of Berlioz : he repeatedly sang Mephistopheles in the opera Condemnation of Faust, King Herod in the Childhood of Jesus oratorio [1] ), and in 1993 he was invited by John Eliot Gardiner to participate in the first (after a 166-year break) performance of the Solemn Mass .
