History
Since the mid- 19th century , Rakhova Street has been called Kamyshinskaya Street, in honor of the county town Kamyshin of the Saratov province . The street limits the city blocks from the west, defined by the general plan of 1812 . Further, the regular layout of the city changes its rhythm - the quarters are enlarged, and solid stone pre-revolutionary buildings practically disappear. A wide street of 50 meters separated the prestigious residential part of the city, outside of which were bourgeois and working one-story wooden outskirts, government and industrial buildings. For a long time, part of the street was called " Kosicha Boulevard" in honor of the governor, on whose initiative the boulevard was broken in the middle of the street.
In January 1940, the street was renamed Rakhov Street in honor of the pilot, Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Rakhov , who died in battle with Japanese invaders on the Khalkhin Gol River in Mongolia [2] .
Location
The street begins in the City Park area from 2nd Sadovaya Street and goes 800 meters to the northeast perpendicular to the bed of the now-filled Beloglinsky ravine. Then the street turns north and after 2900 meters abuts against the bed of the Glebuchev ravine in the area of Zelenaya Street. Behind the ravine there are several houses (No. 258-266) which can be reached only from the 1st Magnetic Drive.
Development
Kamyshinskaya street began on one working outskirts, in the area of “Ochkin places” (now Pervomaisky village), and ended on another outskirts - the 1st Pugachevsky village in the Glebuchev ravine. The main type of building is a bourgeois one-story wooden house. Stone two-story houses were found mainly on the even (eastern) side of the street. Bakhmetyevskaya to the street Zarubina . In a similar, almost unchanged form, Rakhova Street was located until the end of the 1970s, when Soviet city authorities allowed cooperative construction in the central part of the city. One and a half dozen typical nine-story boxes appeared on the red line of the street, in the courtyards of which one-story houses of former working suburbs are still crowded. In recent years, "elite" houses have appeared on the central part of the street.
