Biography
Rimma (Remo) Kazakova was born on January 27, 1932 in Sevastopol. Her father, Fyodor Lazarevich Kazakov (1899-1967), was a soldier, and her mother, Sofya Alexandrovna Shulman, worked as a secretary-typist. The name given by the parents means “Revolution, Electrification, World October.” At 20, she took the name of Rimma [1] .
Kazakov spent her early childhood in Belarus , and her school years in Leningrad . She graduated from the History Department of Leningrad State University .
For seven years she lived in the Far East in Khabarovsk . She worked as a lecturer, teacher, in a newspaper, at a film studio.
The first poems of Kazakova, who belonged to the generation of the sixties along with Yevtushenko , Okudzhava , Voznesensky , Akhmadulina , Rozhdestvensky , Kashezheva , were published in 1955 , and already in 1958 the first collection of her poems “Meet me in the East” was published.
In 1959, Kazakova was admitted to the Union of Writers of the USSR .
In 1964 she graduated from higher literary courses at the Writers' Union .
In 1976 - 1981 - Secretary of the Board of the Writers' Union. Since 1977, she was a member of the CPSU .
In 1999, she was elected first secretary of the Moscow Writers Union , which she was until the end of her life.
Rimma Kazakova - the author of numerous collections of poems, was also involved in translations from the languages of the countries of near and far abroad. Millions of Russians, Rimma Kazakova, is known as the author of verses for the popular songs “You Love Me” (composer Igor Krutoy , performer Alexander Serov ), Madonna (composer I. Krutoy , performer Alexander Serov ), and My Beloved (composer - Alexandra Pakhmutova , performer - Maya Kristalinskaya ) and others.
The lyrics of Kazakova are rich in images, and are distinguished by their thoroughness in selecting words. Her sensitivity to human suffering has its origins in military childhood, in the experience of harsh life in the Far East. Her work is determined characteristic of the late 50s. the search for human decency and the rejection of pathos and propaganda. Often this is philosophical lyrics, in which at the end of the poem the symbolism of nature is revealed; Kazakova’s love lyrics are distinguished by tender penetration. The word - especially in its early verses - serves to express the experience and is chosen with a great sense of responsibility. Some of Kazakova’s later poems are narrative, less saturated. Sometimes Kazakova has unusual metaphors that are too contrasting with respect to the context, but her poems are always dictated by a serious feeling.

Community Activities
She was a civic activist with a pronounced liberal position. In October 1993, she signed the 42-letter , in 2000 she was one of the authors of the letter against the return of the Stalinist anthem . She took an active part in the publication of the newspaper “ Informsprostranstvo ”, actively collaborated [2] [3] [4] with the public organization “Unity”, the president of which was the well-known criminal authority Vladimir Podatev [5] , the organization “Unity” was a sponsor of some books by Rimma Kazakova [6] , and Rimma Kazakova was co-chair of Unity. In the lawsuit on the defense of honor and dignity of the chairman of the Khabarovsk public organization "Unity" Vladimir Podatev to the newspaper "Izvestia", the famous poetess Rimma Kazakova also took an active part:
The publication hit Poodle for life, and he decided to sue the newspaper. It is curious that Podatev did not dispute the fact that he “held a common fund”, or that he was convicted of “robbery and gang rape”. The plaintiff sought to refute other information provided by the newspaper, for example, that he was convicted “for theft” (actually for hooliganism), that he was “criminal authority” or that he was “criminal on horseback”. Poodle also demanded to refute the information that “Unity” (co-source) is a mafia structure. It is curious that the statement of claim was supported by the famous poetess Rimma Kazakova, whose collection of poems was published at the expense of his organization. By the way, the poetess grateful to him agreed to become co-chair of Unity, which was supposed to enhance the prestige of this society. [7]
