The first representative of the Swedish pedagogy was Bishop Laurentius Paulinus Gotus (1565-1646), an ardent advocate of the rational education of young people. In the 18th century , E. Eclund , I. Blavalallyus and K. Brockman (1783–1812) advanced works on pedagogy; the latter published the first pedagogical journal in Sweden called “Journal for parents and teachers” ( Swedish. “Magazin för foräldrar och lärare” ). In the 19th century , K. Agard , E. Geyer , A. Fryuksel and P. Ling , the founder of the school of pedagogical gymnastics, were outstanding teachers-writers. In the field of public education, the works of T. Rudensheld , P. Sylstrem and F. Carlson were famous. Anna Sandstrem (1854–?), A defender of the visual method, who places the main place in the curriculum of the natural sciences and geography, has emerged among the champions of female education.
