The village is located 10 km from Razgrad and 24 km from Isperih . Two more villages are located nearby : Cherkovna 5 km north and Mortagonovo 6 km south.

History
The former name of the village of Dushtubak, which was given the name of the railway station of the first railway line in Bulgaria, Rousse - Varna. In 1937, the name of the village was changed by translation from Turkish into Bulgarian. According to a village legend, a peasant lost his horse and found it near a spring, where there is now a large stone-trimmed spring (Koja-Cheshma), later a village was founded there near the spring, and the name of the village was due to the fact that there were ash trees in the district forests (ash - tour. Dişbudak ). The first mention of the village dates back to the middle of the XIX century.

Political Situation
In the local caste, Yasenovets, which includes Yasenovets, the position of kmet (headman) until 2011 was performed by Guljan Khasanov Hasanov (a coalition of 5 parties: Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DRC) , the Agricultural Peoples Union (ZNS) , Democratic Party (DP) , Union of Free Democracy (SDS) , Union of Democratic Forces (SDS) ), since 2011, Gyuljan Akhmedov (SDS, DRB) has been a member of the KMT following the election results of the board of the property.
