Two-time winner of the Masters tournament (1985, 1993). He was the first leader in the world ranking, established in 1986 . He stayed on the first line for 3 weeks, after which he lost to Spaniard Sev Ballesteros . After Langer, not a single German managed to take the world ranking for a long time, until February 27, 2011, Martin Kaymer did this , having removed Lee Westwood from the first line of the rating.
In addition to two victories at Masters, Langer has 6 hits in the top three at the British Open (1982, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1993, 2001). Most unsuccessfully, Langer played at the PGA championship - during his career, he never even got into the top ten. The last success in the “majors” to Langer came in 2005 at the British Open, where he shared fifth place.
