History
Named in honor of the Khan of the First Bulgarian Kingdom (from 802 to 814 ) - Krum . Until 1899, the village was called Chatalar , then renamed Tsar Krum . Since 1977, the village has its current name. In 1904, Shumen Rafail Popov cleared a column on the outskirts of the then village of Chatalar. The inscription in Greek reported the name of one of the residences of Khan Omurtag - Pliski. After this incident, the anonymous city of Aboba, in which Karel Shkorpil and Fedor Uspensky were excavated, received its current name - Pliska.
Political Situation
In the local Khan-Krum region, which includes Khan-Krum, the position of kmet (warden) is performed by Stoyan Ivanov Batov (Democratic Union "Radicals") according to the results of the election of the kmetz board.
