Anastasia and Vasilissa of Rome ( Greek Ἀναστασία και Βασιλίσσα , † about 68 ) are early Christian martyrs , commemorated in the Orthodox Church on April 15 (according to the Julian calendar ), in the Catholic Church on April 15 .

According to the life, Anastasia was a resident of Rome and adopted Christianity during the sermon of the apostles Peter and Paul . During the persecution of Christians under the emperor Nero , Anastasia, along with her friend Vasilissa, buried the bodies of Christians killed for the faith, for which both were imprisoned. Beaten and tormented by fire, Anastasius and Vasilissa were beheaded by a sword for about 68 years .
The relics of Saints Anastasia and Vasilissa are stored in Rome in the Church of Our Lady of Peace .
