Biography

Mikhail Pavlotsky was born in Tiraspol to a Jewish family [1] [2] , where he graduated from high school No. 6. Parents - Arkady Leibovich and Sura Pavlotsky.

Since 1940 - in the Red Army (drafted from Odessa ), in 1941 he graduated from the Leningrad Military Infantry School and in May 1942 he was sent to the army as the communications chief of the 62nd anti-aircraft regiment. By 1943, he commanded a battalion that crossed the Desna River near the village of Obolon. He was an assistant chief of staff of the 360th Infantry Regiment for Intelligence (as part of the 74th Infantry Division of the 12th Army of the Central Front).

He was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 16, 1943 for the heroism shown during the crossing of the Dnieper in the village of Komarin in the Bragin district of the Gomel region . On September 23, 1943, the commander of the assault reconnaissance detachment, Captain Pavlotsky, was the first to cross the Dnieper , seized the bridgehead, and with fire cover the crossing of the regiment; in the battle for the nearby village, Berezki was the first to break into the enemy’s position and repel a counterattack for two days, despite wounding, destroying about 50 enemy soldiers.

Member of the CPSU since 1945. After entering the reserve in 1946, he settled in Kiev with the rank of major , until 1964 he served in the troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs , in 1958 he graduated from the Higher School of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
