History
The original name of the village is Ak-Bunar (translated from Turkish: White Well). It arose as a settlement around the chiflik of a wealthy Turkish landowner [1] . Until the beginning of the 20th century, the majority of the villagers were Greeks. In the years 1924-25, according to the Bulgarian-Greek agreement on the change of population, many of the Greeks here moved to Greece - arr. in the village of Libanovo (renamed by the Greek authorities in Eginio [2] ), in Aegean Macedonia . In their place arrived Bulgarian refugees from the White Sea Thrace , who built a separate quarter (mahalu) in Ak-Bunar. Due to domestic differences and mutual hostility between refugees and old-timers, mixed marriages were very rare at first. To our time, hostility has been overcome and preserved only in memories.
In 1926, a library was founded here on donations from philanthropists [3] (now it contains 12,000 volumes). By decree of Boris III of 1938, Ak-Bunar was renamed General-Inzovo: in honor of the Russian general I.N. Inzov , the founder of the city of Bolgrad , the capital of Bulgarian settlements in Bessarabia .
Culture
The village has an ethnographic museum, built on the model of an old rural "pimple". It contains objects of old life, valuable documents, ancient weapons.
The Inzovo folklore ensemble is an active participant in the festivals Koprivshtitsa, Marash Pey, Kenana, Petrova Niva (in Bakadzhik ), Dobrudja and others.
