Content
History
In November 1877, during the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878) , near the city of Berkovitsa, battles were fought between the Russian imperial army and the army of Mehmet Ali Pasha, which was sent by the Turkish government to the rescue of Osmanu Nuri Pasha during the blockade of Plevna [1] .
