South Arrow ( lat. Sagitta Australis ) - the canceled constellation of the southern hemisphere of the sky. The Strela constellation was sometimes distinguished from the constellation Sagittarius by the ancient astronomers (do not confuse it with the modern Strela ). In modern times, the South Arrow was proposed by Plantsius in the publication of the heavenly atlas of 1612 . It was located east of the constellation Scorpio .
The constellation appeared on several maps of the XVII century, but did not find recognition among astronomers and was forgotten.
