History

Design began in 1959 , the line was planned perpendicular to the already existing Bee line. Work on the line continued in 1964 in the Tuskolan region, but poor organization of work caused a number of delays. The originally proposed construction method created problems for ground transportation in the south-east of the city. Work resumed again five years later already using tunnels that allowed solving transport problems, but caused a wave of protests related to vibrations caused by the operation of drilling machines. Work was also often interrupted due to archaeological excavations, especially in the area of Republic Square . The line entered service in February 1980 . In the late 1990s, it was expanded to the Battistini station.
