Gorny Tikich (originally - Ugorsky Tikich; ukr. Girsky Tikich ) - a river in the Oratovsky district of the Vinnitsa region and Monastyryschensky , Zhashkovsky , Mankovsky and Talnovsky districts of the Cherkasy region , the right tributary of the Tikich river. It belongs to the Southern Bug basin. The length of the river is 167 km, the basin area is 3525 km², the river slope is 0.78 m / km. On the river is the city Talnoe .

Content
History
The name of the river is the distorted original name Vgorsky-Ugorsky Tikich, by which the river was known by numerous references from the middle of the XVI century to the middle of the XIX century. Since the beginning of the 20th century, a distorted name, Gornyi, has been established everywhere. The historical name Ugorsky has not yet been returned.
Geography
The source of the Mountain Tikich is formed from three sleeves [all three have a straightforward (and confusing) name - Rotten Tikich], the main of which (right) originates in p. Front (279 meters above sea level , south of this mark); the source of the second, middle, is located near the villages of Yushkovtsy - Sabarovka (to the North - East from the mark of 279 m; Oratovsky district ; ≈ 49 ° 10′00 ″ p. W 29 ° 45′00 ″ V.); third - in a. Stadnitsa (Tetievsky district of the Kiev region ; in fact, near the border of three regions). Thus, the source of the river, which is formed by the confluence of three small rivers, is located in the village of Shulyaki, Zhashkovsky district (193.6 m asl., North of the village of Tsibulev ).
The valley of the river is V-shaped, its width is about 2.3 km, and its depth is about 60 m. The riverbed is winding, with elevated, rocky banks. On Mountain Tikich there are waterfalls and rapids. Near the village of Buki Gorny Tikich for several kilometers flows through the rocky Buk canyon . Before the canyon on the river is a small waterfall Vyr . Merging with the Gniloy Tikich River , the Mountain Tikich forms the Tikich River, which flows into the Sinyukha River (a tributary of the Southern Bug , the Black Sea basin).
The river feed is mainly snow and rain. It accepts more than 10 tributaries, the main ones are Talnianka (right), Torch (left), Breadbaskets (Harvestmen), Sribka, Romanovka, etc. Ice cover from early December to mid-March.
There are two hydropower plants built at Gorny Tikich (Talnovskaya and Bukskaya Hydroelectric Power Stations ), there are reservoirs. River water is used for irrigation and fish farming.
Due to the rapids and interesting relief, the river is popular with water tourists .
