History
1982-1992
The group was formed in 1982 under the original name Zoo Crew [2] . A distinctive feature of the group, especially in the early period, was always a constant change of composition, sometimes several musicians were replaced each year. The only constant member is New York guitarist and founding member Vinnie Stigma , an ex-member of Eliminators.
In 1983, the debut EP United Blood was recorded. The vocalist of the group by this time was Roger Miret ( English Roger Miret ), drummer - Ray Barbury, guitarist - Adam Mushi.
In 1984, the album Victim In Pain was released . By that time, Dave Jones was on drums (a little later he was replaced by Jim Coletti), bass - Rob Kabul. The album became a notable event on the local hardcore scene. Agnostic Front often began to give concerts in the famous New York club CBGB (in addition to them, the club performed, for example, The Cro-Mags , Murphy's Law ), where a group of fans (supporters) is formed around the group.
Cause For Alarm , released in 1986, has become closer to the thrash metal that is gaining popularity than to traditional hardcore sound. This could not but cause discontent among fans of hardcore, some of which turned away from the group. The next album - Liberty And Justice For ... continued the tradition of leaving thrash metal. In the same year, vocalist Roger Miret was arrested and charged with drug possession. However, this did not stop the group from going on their first European tour (Miret was temporarily replaced by Michael Shost).
After Miret's release from prison, One Voice was recorded with the help of members of Madball and Sick of It All . But, in the same year, the band broke up, finally releasing the compilation To Be Continued and the concert band Last Warning . The last concert was given at the same CBGB in December 1992.
1997 - Today
In 1997, Stigma and Miret attempted to reanimate the group. Jimmy Coletti was invited to the drums; Rob Kabul again became the bass player. The band signed to Epitaph Records, and in 1998 released Something's Gotta Give (although, according to Mira, the original name was Today, Tomorrow, Forever ), which returned to the classic hardcore sound. The band's next album, Riot, Riot, Upstart , was attended by Billy Milano from MOD and Lars Fredricksen from Rancid . In 2002, Miret started a third-party project, Roger Miret and the Disasters , whose sound was closer to Oi! sounding that same year, the band starred in the film Matthew Barney (Cremaster 3) (along with Murphy's Law). In 2004, the label changed to Nuclear Blast Records . In 2008, the single “Victim in Pain” sounded in the Grand Theft Auto 4 game on the Liberty City Hardcore in-game radio, which also featured Agnostic Front related bands Cro-Mags, Bad Brains and Murphy's Law.
