It stands on the banks of the Don River . Near the railway line Yelets - Leo Tolstoy is a platform of 51 km.
Known since the 18th century . In 1782 it was a village with a church [2] .
The name, most likely, is somehow connected with the Kulikovo field .
Today in this region of the Don region along the border with the Krasninsky district there is also the village of Pervaya Kulikovka . Previously, it was probably a single village.
