Biography

Born in the village of Ternovka (now Trunovskoye ) in the Stavropol province . Member of the First World War , Wahmister , full St. George Knight.

In the civil war, along with I. R. Apanasenko , K. M. Rylsky , S. V. Negovora , P. M. Ipatov , F. G. Shpak , M. P. Shpak , V. I. Kniga , V. S Golubovsky , P. L. Romanenko , I. G. Ziberov , P. M. Davydov , M. I. Chumakov and others - one of the organizers of the Red Guerrilla groups in the Stavropol region . After it was decided at the front-line congress of representatives of self-defense detachments to reform partisan detachments into regular units, Trunov was appointed commander of the 4th Infantry Regiment of the 1st Stavropol Infantry Division , later renamed the 4th . When the numbering common for all divisions of the Red Army was introduced and the division was numbered 32 , Trunov was appointed commander of its 1st brigade. On July 24, 1919, the commander of the 10th Army L. L. Klyuyev , who was hostile to units dominated by Kuban and Stavropol troops and believed that partisanism flourished in the division, announced that it was being brought into the brigade at the division’s review. This caused unrest among part of the fighters and junior commanders. As a result, the division was not reorganized into a brigade, but the division commander A. S. Vdovichenko , Trunov and the commanders of the 280th and 282nd rifle regiments were removed from their posts [1] . At their request, they were instructed to form a partisan detachment of old Stavropol fighters for operations on the rear of the Volunteer Army . Then Trunov was appointed commander of the 31st Belorechensky cavalry regiment of the 6th cavalry division of the 1st Cavalry Army , formed from Stavropolites, and participated in many battles. He died on the Polish front in the battle of Brody .

An obituary to Trunov was published in the Red Cavalryman newspaper, signed by Cyril Lutov, a pseudonym for Isaac Babel [2] , who also immortalized the name of the hero in his Conarmy in the story Squadron Trunov.
