Ahmed Hossam Hussein Abdelhamid El-Din Wassfi ( Arabic: احمد حسام حسين عبد الحميد ), better known as Mido - an Egyptian footballer who played in the position of striker . Player of the Egyptian national team (2001-2009). During his career, he managed to play for the clubs of Egypt, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Italy, England.

Career

He began his professional career in the Cairo club Zamalek in 1999. Mido was able to score 3 goals in 4 matches of the Egyptian championship , which attracted the scouts of the Belgian " Ghent ". In the summer of 1999, he moved to Ghent, the club paid 420,000 € for him. He spent only one year in the team, played 21 matches and scored 11 goals. At the end of the season he received the award as the best African footballer in Belgium.

On August 23, 2010, as a free agent, Mido signed a contract with the Dutch club Ajax for a period until June 30, 2011 [3] . On January 4, 2011, the Amsterdamans announced the player’s transfer [4] . After Ajax, Mido played for the Egyptian Zamalek and the English Barnsley . In January 2013, he received free agent status [5] .
