Sorocaba [1] ( port. Sorocaba ) is a city and municipality in Brazil , part of the state of São Paulo . A component of the Mesoregion Macroregion of the São Paulo Metropolitan Area . Included in the economic and statistical micro-region of Sorocaba and the urban agglomeration of Sorocaba . The population is 559 157 people for 2007 and 637 187 people for 2014 [2] . It covers an area of 449,122 km². The population density is 1.419 people / km².
