Paraibanu ( port. Paraibano ) is a municipality in Brazil , part of the state of Maranhão . An integral part of the East Maranyan state mesoregion. Included in the economic and statistical microregion of Chapadas do Altu Itapecuro . The population is 20 103 people in 2010 . It covers an area of 530.517 km².
