Story
The film gives a chronicle of the lives of several gays and a woman - a friend of one of them. The action begins in the days when scientists discovered a connection between Kaposi’s sarcoma and a new disease, presumably a form of cancer that later became known as AIDS (summer 1981 ). Next we see scenes from the next few years, until the end of the 80s.
One of the main characters, gay aristocratic origin, David ( Bruce Davison ) dies of the "plague of the XX century" in May 1987 .
The film "A Close Friend" is one of the first attempts to show the drama of homosexuals with AIDS through cinema .
