Max and Jeremy

The heads of his mafia clan are instructed to remove the same assassin who is already in his years and also knows too much, for a young hired killer who wants to participate in the “real business” and thereby increase his reputation. However, the old professional immediately calculates the young “colleague” when the latter tries to make acquaintance with him, but instead of getting rid of the guy, he offers him a joint job. Gradually, close and trusting friendships arise between them, more similar to the relations of father and son. But the mafia bosses do not depart from their plan to remove the old man and give their handy orders to deal with him and his young partner.

• The film was shot based on the novel "Max Trueblood and the Jersey Desperado" by American writer Teri White, which was published in 1987. When translated into French, the name of the book was changed to "Les lamentations de Jeremiah", or in Russian, "Lamentation of Jeremiah." ^[one]
• The screenwriters of the film Claire Dever and Bernard Stora moved the scene to France. Max Troublad, in particular, became Robert Maxander. Jeremiah Donahue became Jeremiah Kolachowski.
• While working on the film “Horse Riding”, K. Lambert read the script by Claire Devers and immediately agreed to act in film (after many years of absence on French film sets).
• In between filming, F. Noiret and C. Lambert often communicated with each other in English in order to imbue the spirit of the original source of the film.
• C. Lambert received leg burns during the filming of the explosion and fire scene in Max's apartment. ^[2]
