The flag of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia was approved by Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 31, 2015 No. 687. [1] . The flag description read:

The flag of the internal troops of the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation is a rectangular bilateral white panel with a speckled four-pointed cross overlaid over the entire flag area.

In the center of the banner is a heraldic badge - the emblem of the internal affairs bodies of the Russian Federation and internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The ratio of the width of the flag to its length is two to three.

The ratio of the height of the emblem to the width of the flag is one to two

After the transformation of the internal troops into the troops of the national guard [2] , the decree on the approval of this flag was invalidated [3] .

March 18, 1983, by decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR , the Naval flag of the Internal Troops of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs was established. [4] .

Flag description
The naval flag of ships (boats) and vessels of internal troops is a cloth of maroon color, which has in its roof an image of the Naval flag of the USSR .

The ratio of the width of the flag to the length is one to one and a half. The size of the USSR Navy flag in the roof is 1/4 of the entire banner.

The maroon color of the flag dates back to 1811 , when Alexander I allocated garrison troops from army units and assigned them the maroon color of their uniform cloth.

On July 21, 1992 , in connection with the collapse of the USSR and the need to bring the status of ships (boats) and vessels of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in accordance with international law, a decree of the President of the Russian Federation on the establishment of a naval flag of ships (boats) and vessels was adopted Internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia . Flag description
The naval flag of ships (boats) and vessels of internal troops is a cloth of maroon color, which has in its roof an image of the Naval flag of the Russian Federation .

The ratio of the width of the flag to the length is one to one and a half; the size of the Navy flag of the Russian Federation in the roof is 1/4 of the entire panel.

The difference from the flag of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR is that in the roof of the cloth, the Naval flag of the USSR was replaced by the Naval flag of the Russian Federation.

On December 29, 2000, a change was made to the description of the Naval flag of the Russian Federation, the color of the Andreevsky Cross was changed from blue to blue, which entailed an automatic change of the flag of the Internal Troops. [eight]
