Geography
It is located in the eastern part of the region 16 km north-west of the regional center, near the Vyazma - Kholm-Zhirkovsky highway .

History
In October 1941, fierce battles were fought around the village (see. Moscow Battle ). Here, the troops of the 19th Army of the Western Front tried to break out of the encirclement (the so-called Vyazemsky Cauldron ). According to local residents, whom the Nazis drove in March 1942 to bury the dead soldiers of the Soviet army, the corpses lay in the river valley in "7 layers." [3]
