Biography

She was born on November 23, 1920 in the Shevtsovo farm of the Polotsk district of the Vitebsk province (now the Rossonsky district of the Vitebsk region of Belarus ) in the Morozov peasant family. Russian [1] .

In the 1930s, his father, fearing reprisals, went to Siberia and changed his surname. His brother, Morozov Semyon Mikhailovich (1890-1937), a World War I disabled person, the St. George Knight, chairman of the Second Five-Year Plan collective farm of the Rossonsky District was repressed [2] .

Education is incomplete secondary. She worked in the Leninsk-Kuznetsk Kemerovo region laboratory chemist trust "Leninskugol" [1] .

In the Red Army since April 1942. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1942. She graduated from nursing courses [1] .

On November 6, 1942, for the rescue of 26 soldiers from July 19 to July 23, a nurse of the 849th rifle regiment of the 303rd rifle division of the 60th army of the Voronezh front guard, the foreman of the medical service Z. Tusnolobov, was introduced as regiment commander to the Order of the Patriotic War I degree , but was awarded the Order of the Red Star [3] . For the same feat, some time later, she was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

In just 8 months at the front, it took out 123 wounded from the battlefield [1] .

In February 1943, in the battle for the Gorshechnoye station in the Kursk Region, Z. M. Tusnolobova tried to help the wounded platoon commander. While she was crawling to the lieutenant, she herself was seriously injured: her legs were broken. At this time, the Germans launched a counterattack. Z. M. Tusnolobova tried to pretend to be dead, but one of the German soldiers noticed her, and with blows of her boot and butt tried to finish off the nurse [4] .

At night, a nurse who showed signs of life was discovered by a reconnaissance group, transferred to the location of the Soviet troops, and on the third day was taken to a field hospital. From severe frostbite of all limbs, gangrene developed. For several months of treatment she underwent eight operations that saved her life. But due to frostbite, arms and legs were amputated [4] .

The author of a letter of appeal to the soldiers of the 1st Baltic Front (May 1944). Z. M. Tusnolobova received more than 3,000 responses to it, and soon the slogan “For Zina Tusnolobova!” Appeared on the sides of many Soviet tanks, aircraft and guns. In particular, on the fuselage of the plane of the Hero of the Soviet Union Pyotr Andreev there was an inscription - “For Zina Tusnolobova”.


After the war, the disabled person of the Great Patriotic War of the first group Z. M. Tusnolobova lived in Polotsk , worked as an announcer of a local radio, was a member of the CPSU city ​​committee, and conducted community work [1] .

In the fall of 1965, the International Committee of the Red Cross awarded Z. M. Tusnolobova-Marchenko the Florence Nightingale Medal , so she became the third Soviet nurse to receive this honorary award [1] .

She died on May 20, 1980 in Polotsk [1] .

Husband - Joseph Petrovich Marchenko, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, lieutenant. After the war, he worked in the Pishchevik artel as a shop manager, chief engineer, and then as a director. They have two children [1] :
