Miss Lemon

The author describes this woman this way: “It would seem to anyone who saw Miss Lemon for the first time that she consisted exclusively of sharp corners, which, however, was quite suitable for Poirot, who preferred geometric accuracy in everything ... Monsieur Poirot simply forgot that she was a woman. For him, it was a perfectly working machine. And indeed, Miss Lemon was distinguished by truly terrifying performance. She was forty-eight, and nature graciously treated her, completely depriving all imagination ” ^[1] .

But still, she has small female weaknesses. During Poirot's work, she was mistaken only twice. True, to justify Miss Lemon, it can be said that at that time she was extremely excited by the events taking place with her sister.

She is an expert in almost everything and likes to systematize: “It was not in her habits to think, unless, of course, they asked her about it. In those rare free minutes that were given out to her, she preferred to think about how else she could improve the workflow system that was already brought to her perfection. This was the only rest she allowed herself ” ^[2] .

Miss Lemon also worked for the pro-government philanthropist Parker Pine.

In the series Poirot Agatha Christie , her role is played by Pauline Moran . The character Pauline appears from the first series (see the list of episodes of the television series Poirot Agatha Christie ), and is endowed with more warm human features than the literary prototype; in particular, throughout the series, Miss Lemon shows love for cats and a sincere caring attitude towards Poirot himself.
