Kholiyamb ( other Greek: χωλίαμβος , “lame iambic”), also a skadzon ( other Greek: σκάζων ) is a six- footed iambic with a spondium or troche on the last foot .
Unlike the common iambic trimester , it was a relatively uncommon size, with a distinctive specific color. Holiamb invented Hipponact in the 6th century. BC e. for their satirical invective ; in the era of Hellenism he was revived by the moralistic poetry of Kallimachus , Phoenix, and others; in the subsequent era, it was used almost exclusively in small epigrams . The most extensive work in holiyambah that has come down to us is a collection of fables by Babria .
