Hadad, Sarit

Born in the city of Afula in a large family of mountain Jews - immigrants from the Dagestan city ​​of Derbent . She was the youngest child in a family with four daughters and as many sons. When Sarah was 3 years old, the Khudadatov family moved to the city of Hadera . At the age of ten, she participated in a competition of young talents, where she performed a piano piece. She also played the organ , guitar , accordion and darbuk .

At the age of 15 she performed with the group “Tseyire Hadera” ( “Youth of Hadera” ). At one of the performances of a youth group in the city of Netanya, young Avi was noticed by producer Avi Guetta . The producer was impressed by the vocal data of the young singer and he invited her to sign a contract.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn , Israel represented Israel with the song “ Light a candle ” and took 12th place. Five albums of the singer occupied the first line in the Israeli charts.

In 2004, she conducted a successful tour of the United States , after which Madonna announced that she was a fan of Hadad. In October 2009, she was recognized as the best singer of Israel in the 2000s.
