History
Founded in 1998 as the Kaluga Brewing Company, a subsidiary of SABMiller in Russia , for the production of premium beers.
At the end of March 2007, the company announced the construction of a new brewery in Ulyanovsk . The construction is designed for two phases with a capacity of 30 million decaliters each; the total project cost will be about $ 170 million [1] .
Since November 12, 2007, the Kaluga Brewing Company changed its name to SABMiller RUS LLC.
In June 2008, the company announced the purchase of the Vladpivo Brewery ( Vladivostok ). The amount of the transaction is about $ 90 million. [2]
According to an entry in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities dated March 27, 2009, Vladpivo LLC and Transmark LLC cease their activities, SABMiller RUS LLC with branches in Moscow, Ulyanovsk and Vladivostok is the full successor of their rights and obligations. [3]
On March 7, 2012, SAB Miller transferred its business in Russia and Ukraine to Ephesus, and in return, SAB Miller received a 24% stake in Anadolu Ephesus, based in Turkey. On September 3, 2012, SABMiller RUS LLC was reorganized in the form of a transformation into SABMiller RUS CJSC. Owners and management
According to the entry in the Unified State Register of Legal Entities dated March 27, 2009: Vladpivo LLC and Transmark LLC cease operations, SABMiller RUS LLC with branches in Moscow, Ulyanovsk and Vladivostok is the full successor of their rights and obligations.
On October 19, 2011, SABMiller RUS announced its intention to enter into a strategic alliance between SABMiller and Anadolu Efes , which will cover the CIS countries and Central Asia and Turkey. The new union involves the transfer of SABMiller RUS companies in Russia and Ukraine to Anadolu Efes in exchange for a 24% interest in Anadolu Efes group of companies.
Activities
The company has over 1800 employees in Russia, has factories in Kaluga and Vladivostok, invests in the construction of a new plant in Ulyanovsk, commissioning took place in 2009. Officially, the plant in Ulyanovsk was opened at the end of 2010.
The company's share in the Russian market in monetary terms is 10%, in kind - 6% (according to AC Nielsen, 2008).
At an enterprise in Vladivostok, production of the leading local premium brand SABMiller RUS - Golden Barrel beer has already begun. In the near future, it is planned to start production of international licensed brands, and the production of regional brands acquired together with production will continue. [four]
In March 2009 , licensed strong beer of the premium segment Amsterdam Navigator was launched into production at the Kaluga factory (the license is owned by Royal Grolsch NV, in 2008 it was acquired by SABMiller plc.). [five]
