Story
In the first episode (“Guardian”; valid for 2371), the new USS Voyager starship fleet of the United Federation of Planets (NCC-74656) ( Eng. USS Voyager ) gets his first mission - to find the ship of the terrorist organization Maki ( Eng. Maquis ), hiding in an unusual region of outer space known as the Wasteland.
By coincidence, both ships fall into the spatial anomaly created by the intergalactic creature - the Guardian, and find themselves in the delta quadrant , 70 thousand light-years from Earth with the prospect of spending more than one decade on the return trip.
In search of the missing crew members, the Voyager team and Maki are forced to work together. In the process of searching, they gain their first enemy - the Keysons ; during the attack of the Kaison raiders, the Maki ship has to be sacrificed, and the surviving crew rises aboard the Voyager. From this moment, the two warring teams are forced to unite in order to save themselves from enemies and save their lives.
They are creating a new team that will return home over the course of seven television seasons. During this journey they will have to make new discoveries and get acquainted with deadly enemies and new races: Vidians , Borg and species 8472 .
Voyager’s journey successfully ends in the last season of the series (action time - 2377), in the series “End of the Game” ( Eng. Endgame ).

Viewers Reaction
The reaction of Star Trek fans was not unambiguous and generated a lot of speculation. The ratings of Voyager were lower than the series Deep Space 9 and much less than those of the Next Generation that the audience liked [15] . At the same time, there is a community of fans of this particular saga, who consider it a finely tuned system for presenting a spectator image, which includes a successful selection of actors, an ingenious script and subtle humor, reflecting the positive emotional energy of interaction in the team.
A lot of criticism fell on the image of the captain of the Voyager, Catherine Janeway . She became the first female captain in the center of the series. Many fans considered this image to be much less successful and not corresponding to the level set by captains Kirk , Picard and Sisko from previous TV shows in Star Trek.
The trackers also did not like the specific humor of the characters in the series. Many have also criticized the authors for the fact that this science fiction series is much less based on science than its predecessors.
There were many other criticisms. The series was called boring, not in line with the spirit of Roddenberry and others. The controversy surrounding Voyager has not subsided among Star Trek fans so far, but most of them are inclined to believe that Star Trek: Voyager is not the most successful epic series. Although this opinion was not amenable to statistical analysis, it can be said with confidence that the series Star Trek: Voyager has strong support among fans of the saga.
