The Serov district is an administrative-territorial unit ( district ) [2] in the Sverdlovsk region of Russia . The administrative center is the city of Serov (not part of the district).

From the point of view of the municipal structure , the Sosva urban district was formed in the district .
Until October 1, 2017, the Serov urban district was partly related to the district , with the exception of the city of Serov and the now-disbanded Filkino village council subordinate to it (the latter included 4 villages: the village of Filkino and the villages of Nizhnyaya Pristan , Uray , Chernoyarsky ), which, from the administrative point of view - territorial devices belong to the city of regional importance Serov and are not included in the district. History
On November 12, 1923, the Nadezhda District was organized as part of the Tagil District of the newly formed Ural Region . The district included the town of Nadezhdinsk , the villages of Bogoslovsk and Tur'yinsk and 8 village soviets: Andrianovskiy, Volchanskiy , Koptyakovskiy, Maslovskiy, Petropavlovskiy, Samskiy, Titovo-Semenovskiy, Filkinskiy.
On June 10, 1931, by decision of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, Ivdelsky (Vsevolodoblagodatsky, Ekaterininsky, Ivdelsky , Lachinsky, Mityaevsky) and Sosvinsky (Denisovsky, Egorovsky, Koshaysky, Matushkinsky, Romanovsky, Sosvinsky , Khmelevsky village councils) were included in the Nadezhda district .
On June 20, 1933, by the resolution of the All-Russian Central Executive Committee, the Nadezhda district was liquidated, and its territory was annexed to the Nadezhda city council .
On March 16, 1940, by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the Serovskiy district within the r. . n Peter and Paul, Mine , Sosva , Turinsky , coal and 15 rural councils: Andrianovka, large-Ivoninskaya, Top-Sosva, Volchanskiy, Galka, Denisovsky, Zamaraysky, Koptyakovskaya, Koshaysky, Maslowski, Pervomayskiy, Pokrovsky, Romanovsky, Filkinsky, Chmielewski. The center of the district is Serov , which, being a city of regional subordination, was not part of the district.
On June 11, 1948, the Koptyakovsky Village Council was transferred from Serovskiy to Novolyaly district .
On March 9, 1959, on the basis of the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the Serov District was abolished, its territory subordinated to the Serov Town Council .
On January 13, 1965, on the basis of the Decree of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, Serovskiy District was re-established with its center in the town of Serov . The district included 3 village and 12 village Soviets: East , Marsyatsky , Sosvinsky village councils, Andrianovsky, Bolsheivoninsky, Verkh-Sosvinsky, Denisovsky, Yelovsky, Klyuchevoy, Koshaysky, Maslovsky, Krasnoyarsky, Pervomaisky, Romanovsky, Khmelevsky village councils.
On November 22, 1966, the villages of the woodworking plant, the N 220, 97, and K 198 quarters were renamed Krasnoglinny, Borovoy, Zeleny and Yuzhnovagransky, respectively [14] [15] .
Since 1977, 3 village and 9 village Soviets have been operating in the district.
On December 17, 1995, following a local referendum, the municipal district “Serovsky District” was formed within the district [16] .
In 1999, the working village Marsyaty transferred to the category of rural settlements, formed Marsyatsky village council.
On October 25, 2004, the regional law No. 158-ОЗ approved the boundaries of the municipal unit “Serovskiy District”, and he himself was granted the status of a city okrug [17] .
On January 1, 2006, in accordance with the decree of the Government of the Sverdlovsk Region No. 736 dated June 30, 2005, the Serovsky District municipality was renamed Sosvinsky urban district with the center in the city of Serov .
Formally, in accordance with the Charter of the Sverdlovsk Region [18], the Serov District still exists. In fact, all the authorities were formed on the basis of the municipal structure adopted on January 1, 2006 , in which the Serovsky and Sosva urban districts are located in the district.
According to the Law of the Sverdlovsk region "On measures to implement the Law of the Sverdlovsk region" On the administrative-territorial structure of the Sverdlovsk region "" of April 13, 2017 N 35-OZ, entered into force on October 1, 2017, village councils and councils as administrative-territorial units in Sverdlovsk the regions are abolished, and the settlements belonging to the Serov urban district , from October 1, 2017, were transferred from the Serov district to the city of Serov as an administrative-territorial unit of the Sverdlovsk region. The structure of the Serov district until October 1, 2017 included 1 urban-type settlement (the workers' settlement , including 4 rural settlements under his direct subordination) and 10 village councils, which include only 56 settlements [3]

On March 12, 1997, the villages of Kalinka and the 101st kilometer, as well as the villages of Kiselevka and Lipovka, were abolished [20] .
On October 12, 2004, the village of New Gypsy was abolished on the territory of the Serov District [21] .
On February 27, 2007, the villages Taushankovo and Tesma, as well as the village of Verkhne Sotrino, were abolished [22] .
