Biography
Before becoming a member of the Alice group, he took part in the recording of songs by such teams as “99%”, “Passing Yard” by Yuri Naumov , from which he appeared in “Alice”. He tried to create Aibolit 66 with the DDT guitarist Andrei Vasiliev, but the project failed.
As part of the "99%" Igor appeared in 1987. The group at that time was part of the Moscow rock laboratory . The musicians recorded the album “The Voice of the Crying”, which is fundamentally different from what was done earlier, and prepared a special concert program for the upcoming rock festival. But other teams were more interesting and played better. The 99% performance went almost unnoticed. The fate of the team was in doubt. Its participants are increasingly engaged in third-party projects. Chumychkin was no exception. In 1988, he took part in the recording of Yury Naumov's album “ Roll the Field ”. After that, Naumov recommended the promising guitarist Konstantin Kinchev.
In Alice, Igor immediately fit into the work on the album The Sixth Forester . At that moment, most of the material was already recorded, however, Igor’s guitar sounds in the songs “ Totalitarian rap ”, “ Sixth Forester ” and “Sterkh”. In the latter, they pair with Andrei Shatalin [2] . Even after returning to the group of Andrei Shatalin , Chumychkin remained the leading guitarist. It was not by chance that his solo appearance at Alice’s concerts was traditional and permanent. Konstantin Kinchev left the stage to rest while Igor was soloing, because this could go on for quite some time. It happened that the rest of the musicians left. Then Chumychkin mastered a new role for himself - he sat down at the drums [3] .
The last year of his life, Igor was waiting for a custom-made guitar. The work was performed by Pavel Kukhnov. The neck of this guitar was to be decorated with mother of pearl. The guitar was done too late. There was no one to play on it [4] .
Death
He died on April 12, 1993, having thrown himself out of the window of his Moscow apartment at the address: Novoyasenevsky Prospekt 40, building 3. Suicide is the official version of this event. Chumychkin was for a long time in a deep depression caused by drug abuse, and, in the end, fell out of the window of his apartment. Such a death is typical for a person who is intoxicated.
He was buried at 36 site of the Shcherbinsky cemetery in the Moscow region [5] [6] .
Alice after the death of Chumychkin
The creativity of the Alisa group can be divided into two stages - before the death of Igor and after. If before the Plague suicide, musicians allowed themselves to lead a rather free life with regard to alcohol and drugs, then in their work more and more calls are made for tying with “walks in hell”, as Konstantin Kinchev put it. April 12, 1993, shocked by the death of a friend, they interrupted their concert activity for several months. All the many thousands of “Alice Army” mourned for the musician.
Keyboardist Andrei Korolev after the death of a friend with whom he had known from the army, left the group. The musician believed that, remaining, he would betray the memory of Igor. For a long time they did not take Chumychkin to the place of a new musician, and Konstantin Kinchev himself began to play the guitar. Later, a member of Corrosion Metal Sergey Borov Vysokosov appeared in the group as a guitarist, combining work in these two groups. He was friends with Igor, together they created a project in which bassist Denis Kanov, who worked in Alice as a technician, also participated. In their joint sessions in 1993, the songs “Pascuda” and “Black Mark” were created, which after Igor’s death were transferred to Kinchev [7] .
Memory

The song “Black Label” contains the opposite quatrain of Igor “If I were Tsiolkovsky ...”
- The song of the group "Alice" "Chance" is dedicated to Chumychkin. The song was composed in the spring of 1995, and performed at concerts, however, it was released on CD only in 2014, as part of the Circus album.

Reviews about Chumychkin
After some time, Shatalin called me and said: “Drive this Muscovite, I decided to return.” I say: “Shuttle, well, the place is always open for you. Nobody drove you, you yourself rolled off. Come back, but the Plague also remains. ” And they both took root in the group, in general, not bad. They began to close tightly by turning over telephone booths in different cities, throwing chairs out of hotel windows and the like.
- Konstantin Kinchev
He decided to leave the game before the deadline. As punks say, life is the turn of death, and someone definitely wants to get into the queue. I can’t blame him, although by suicide he inflicted pain on so many. The disk is very hard, angry. So I expressed my attitude to this loss. I can’t funeral him mentally and gently, as a person who left naturally. Since he took the liberty of doing this, he received such a funeral service. The name of the album is also symbolic. The black mark is a pick, and the one who picked it up is already doomed.
- Konstantin Kinchev [8]
The Shuttle had such a more dense approach to the game, he gave out a sort of "harden". And Plague is a more modern guitarist. Therefore, where a bluesy, heavy shade was required, the Shuttle played there, and where some modern “tricks” were needed - Igor. More precisely, this way: where Igor did not play what is bluer and heavier, the Shuttle played. And the rest is very simple - the shuttle played in support.
- Peter Samoilov [9]
We were friends with Igor in the early 1990s, when I lived in Moscow. He was a wonderful man and musician, his death was a terrible blow to everyone who knew him closely. Igor was literally “dissolved” in the music, he lived in it, it seems to me that at some point he simply moved to the space of sound and left this world.
- Vadim Kurylyov [10]
A trip to Novgorod and Pskov was in the spring of 1990. Nikita Zaitsev left for "intelligence" in America, and the Plague went with us. In fact, it was just a joke - he went more for the company, rather than seriously playing the role of a solo guitarist. At concerts, he jumped onto the stage twice: in The Blind Boy and in Leningrad, performed an incredible enchanting solo, threw a guitar, jumped, crawled in Plastunsky, in a word - lit. Never, of course, was sober at the same time. Well, the main show he and Andrei arranged at the "non-concert" time [11] . Often Igor took the Fender Stratocaster guitar - both for concerts and for recording. In the album “ For Those Who Fell from the Moon, ” her pure Fender sound is clearly audible ” [12] .
