Gentenar, Dennis

Dennis Gentenar began his football career in the youth team of the CALL club from his hometown of Nijmegen . Later, Dennis began to advocate for the youth of the club NEK in the position of midfielder . Dennis's debut in the main team of NEK was held on November 26, 1995 in the Netherlands Championship match against PSV , Gentenard entered the field in the 58th minute instead of midfielder Juan Viedma , by this time NEC lost with a score of 0: 2, in the end, PSV at a party won a victory with a score of 0: 5 ^[2] .

At the position of goalkeeper, Dennis first played for HEC on March 15, 1996 in a match against Twente , Gentenar appeared in the substitution match in the 46th minute replacing legendary goalkeeper Wilfried Brockhois who spent his tenth season for HEC. Dennis's debut as a goalkeeper was not very successful, his team lost to Twente at home with a score of 1: 4, and the last three goals were scored exactly at the goal of Gentenard ^[3] . In total, in the 1995/96 season, Gentenar played only 2 matches, mainly Dennis in the season played for the youth team of NEK'a ^[4] . Only in the 2000/01 season , Dennis became the main goalkeeper of NEC, for five seasons Gentenar played 170 matches in the championship, and in the 2003/04 season Dennis was named the best player of his club.

In the summer of 2005, Gentenar went to Germany to play for Borussia Dortmund , but immediately found himself in the role of reserve goalkeeper. At the beginning of February 2006, Dennis signed a three-year contract with Amsterdam Ajax , but the contract began to be effective only from June 2006 and therefore Dennis had to remain in Germany ^{[5] [6]} . As part of Borussia, Denis made his debut on March 4, 2006 in a match against Germany against Mainz , ending in a 1: 1 draw ^[7] . A total of “Borussia” Dennis spent 10 matches in the championship and missed 12 goals ^[8] .

In June 2006, Dennis became an Ajax player, but Gentenaru was assigned the role of only the third goalkeeper in the club after Martin Stekelenburg and Kenneth Vermere . Dennis debuted only at the end of the year, on December 27 in a match against “ Roda ” from Kerkrade , Gentenar played the entire match, and his team won a home victory with a score of 2: 0 ^[9] . In his first season for Ajax, Dennis played two matches in the championship ^[10] , and also won the 2007 Netherlands Cup . For three seasons in Ajax Gentenar played only seven matches, in the 2008/09 season Dennis did not play a single game in the championship.

In early June 2009, Gentenar signed a three-year contract with the BBB-Venlo club, which won the first division of the Netherlands in the 2008/09 season. The 33-year-old goalkeeper’s transition cost the team free of charge, as Dennis’s contract with Ajax expired on June 30, 2009. Gentenar was the replacement of the Belgian goalkeeper Kevin Beguh which was not very successful in the 2008/09 season ^[11] .

In July 2012, Dennis signed a two-year contract with the club “ Almere City ” ^[12] .
