Mikhail Alekseevich Ovchinnikov ( September 14, 1949 - April 2, 2013 ) is a Russian cultural figure.

Biography
Born September 14, 1949 in Kalinin (now Tver ). In 1969 he graduated from the School of Music at the Moscow Conservatory , then the conservatory itself in piano (Prof. V. A. Natanson ).
He worked in the Choir College. Sveshnikov , Ministry of Culture of the USSR , chief editor of the publishing house "Music", vice-rector, and then, since 1991 , rector of the Moscow Conservatory.
In 2000, he was dismissed [1] [2] by the Minister of Culture Shvydkoy . The reasons for the dismissal were challenged in court, after 2 years Ovchinnikov was reinstated in court, then the Moscow City Court overturned this decision.
M. A. Ovchinnikov died on April 2, 2013 in Moscow [3] .
