Story
America of the thirties. In the US, the height of economic depression. This is the heyday of the mafia and corruption. Factories and plants suffer enormous losses. Mass layoffs throw crowds of disgruntled people onto the street. Many people consider it good luck to join the ranks of organized criminal groups.
Many, but not Johnny Kovak. He has connections with the mafia, but he chooses a different path.
He enters the ranks of the trade union, which is trying to defend the rights of workers to decent conditions and wages. Possessing an amazing gift of persuasion, he draws crowds under the banner of the union. Pretty soon Johnny became convinced that it was impossible to fight for the rights and interests of workers within the framework of the law. And then, not paying attention to the threats, he decides to fight the capitalist sharks by the same means that they do not shun.
The union successfully and forever knocks out good conditions for employers (including a good salary) for employees.
