The 2004 UEFA Cup Final is the final match of the 2003/04 UEFA Cup , the 33rd season in the history of the UEFA Cup . This football match took place on May 19, 2004 , at the Ullevi Stadium in Gothenburg . In the match, the Spanish “ Valencia ” and the French “ Marseille ” met. The final ended with the victory of “Valencia”. For the Spanish team, this trophy was the first in the European arena since 1980 .
