ATI Mach

Mach is a series of 2D accelerators developed by ATI Technologies and designed for personal computers. The successor to the Mach GPU series is the Rage chip based on Mach64.

Mach 32

Released: 1992

  • 32-bit DOS- enabled GUI accelerator
  • Limited support for VESA VBE
  • Video memory: 1 or 2 MB DRAM or VRAM
  • Memory interface: 64-bit

Port: ISA , EISA , VLB , PCI , MCA

  • 100% compatible with IBM 8514 / A

Mach 64

Released: 1994

  • 64-bit DOS- enabled GUI accelerator
  • Limited support for VESA VBE
  • Video memory: 1, 2, 4 or 8 MB DRAM , VRAM , or SGRAM
  • Memory interface: 64-bit
  • Port: ISA , VLB , PCI
  • Options:
    • Mach64 CT with integrated RAMDAC
    • "264VT" - Mach64 core with improved video decoding support
    • 3D Rage - Mach64 2D core with basic 3D acceleration capabilities
